This week’s storytime will take place in downtown Marshall’s Terrace 1872 and will be held following the Crazy Days Kiddie Parade! The parade starts at 10:30 AM in downtown Marshall. We welcome 2-8 year olds and their caregivers/families–as well as kids at heart–to this special summer story time where we will read, sing, move, and more! This storytime is in place of the usual Thursday summer storytime.

The Great Reads book club meets the third Saturday of each month at 11 am at the Marshall library with Zoom available for anyone who wants to attend virtually. For more information or access to the Zoom meeting, please visit the Great Reads Book Club page or contact the library. You will need to contact the library or a book club member for the password to access the Zoom meeting. There is no pressure… just a chance to share your opinions or listen in as others share theirs. Book lists for this book club are available on the Great Reads Book Club page and on the book list in our catalog. Following the story time, toys are available for age-appropriate play learning. In the summer months, this program will be hosted in the Community Room. This event is held weekly on Mondays, though holidays and special events may change this schedule.

For 7 weeks this summer, 2-8 year olds and their caregivers/families are invited to this special summer story time where we will read, sing, move, and more! Each program concludes with an age-appropriate craft or activity. Program may be held in the library courtyard if weather permits. If not, it will be in the Marshall Library’s community room. This program is held weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 from June 3 through July 24, excluding June 26th and July 15th. June 17th and 19th will be a special Juneteenth celebration storytime. On June 26th, we’ll have The Spoon Man visiting for a special event for all ages! On July 15th, Climb Theatre will perform Babe & the Blue Ox for all ages!

Teen Tabletop Gaming will be meeting virtually and in the community room! Attend whichever way is most convenient for you. In nice weather, we might also head outside to the courtyard. For those joining us online: we use Discord, a free voice and chat service that lets you create private servers. You can use it right in your browser without installing anything. You can also install it on a computer or use the app on a tablet or smartphone. You will need to sign up for an account with a valid email address before you can use it. The chat server will be moderated by a librarian. Parents, you can learn more about discord here. Please email Emilirose ([email protected]) or contact LibrarianEmilirose on Discord for a link to the server. We usually play the 5th edition (2014 rules) of Dungeons & Dragons, but we also play other TTRPGs like Daggerheart, Kids on Bikes, or Crash Pandas. We also spend a lot of time chatting, collaborating on video games, and getting our characters ready.  The online voice chat will be available at around 3:20 pm. We start playing when enough players have arrived, and we’ll be done by around 6 pm. It’s okay if you have to leave early. Adult players: this event is specifically for teens and preteens.
