The Great Reads book club meets the third Saturday of each month at 11 am at the Marshall library with Zoom available for anyone who wants to attend virtually. For more information or access to the Zoom meeting, please visit the Great Reads Book Club page or contact the library. You will need to contact the library or a book club member for the password to access the Zoom meeting. There is no pressure… just a chance to share your opinions or listen in as others share theirs. Book lists for this book club are available on the Great Reads Book Club page and on the book list in our catalog. Copies of each month’s title will be available at the front desk of the library for book club participants. You may also request a copy via the catalog. Teen Tabletop Gaming will be meeting virtually and in the community room! Attend whichever way is most convenient for you. In nice weather, we might also head outside to the courtyard. For those joining us online: we use Discord, a free voice and chat service that lets you create private servers. You can use it right in your browser without installing anything. You can also install it on a computer or use the app on a tablet or smartphone. You will need to sign up for an account with a valid email address before you can use it. The chat server will be moderated by a librarian. Parents, you can learn more about discord here. Please email Emilirose ([email protected]) or contact LibrarianEmilirose on Discord for a link to the server. We usually play the 5th edition (2014 rules) of Dungeons & Dragons, but we also play other TTRPGs like Daggerheart, Kids on Bikes, or Crash Pandas. We also spend a lot of time chatting, collaborating on video games, and getting our characters ready.  The online voice chat will be available at around 3:20 pm. We start playing when enough players have arrived, and we’ll be done by around 6 pm. It’s okay if you have to leave early. Adult players: this event is specifically for teens and preteens. Looking for a group? Email Emilirose ([email protected]) to be added to our list of local players looking for a party! Library Closed - Memorial Day Weekend

The Marshall, Balaton, and Cottonwood libraries will be closed from Saturday, May 23rd, through Monday, May 25th, for the Memorial Day weekend. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, May 26th.

Experience the Library the way only teen lock-in participants have: after close and filled with extra activities. Snack, play games, make crafts, play with the puppets, explore the library, or just find a quiet space to read! The doors will ONLY be open from 6 PM to 6:30 PM. Leave whenever you like but there is no entry or readmission after 6:30 PM. This event is free, but please register prior to the event. Walk-ins may be allowed as supplies and space permit.
