Library in the Park: Laying the First Stone

Construction has begun! Gather with community to celebrate this milestone by laying a "stone" in a mosaic art piece for the new building. Local artist, Lori with Mosiac on a Stick, will lead us in creating together mosaic stepping stones for the new library green space......More

Construction has begun! Gather with community to celebrate this milestone by laying a "stone" in a mosaic art piece for the new building. Local artist, Lori with Mosiac on a Stick, will lead us in creating together mosaic stepping stones for the new library green space.  The event at Horton Park, just down the road from the library site, kicks off with storytime with SPPL Children's Specialist Aura, followed by mosaic making and other activities for all ages including rock painting, ice cream, Mobile Library, Double Dutch with Rondo Double Dutch, giant bubble making, Cat Tour scavenger hunt, DJ, and more!  Project staff and architects will be present with information about the new building. Short program at 11:30 a.m. Drop in any time!  Funding for this program is provided by Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

To help bridge the summer gap between school years, we are partnering with Saint Paul Public Schools to provide free meals to all youth 18 or younger. This drop-in program runs between June 16th and August 14th. Food must be eaten in the designated area of the library.......More
