Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site joins several area historic sites, museums, and privately owned homes for a day of summer open houses and tours. See how our ancestors connected with the land, in both ornamental and practical ways. At White Haven in the 1850s, the focus was on farming. They did have beautiful flower gardens and today you can see our rain garden with native plants and flowers. Celebrate Independence Day with music at White Haven!Join White Haven Brass—a quintet of talented staff and volunteers from Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site—for a spirited performance honoring America 250. Enjoy classic patriotic favorites along with marching songs once sung by Union soldiers and supporters during the Civil War. The concert is free and will take place on Saturday, July 4 at 10 AM on the front lawn of White Haven. Bring a chair or blanket. In case of inclement weather, we will move the performance indoors to the auditorium.
