Fact 1. Tropical Rainforests, which are located within the Tropics, are home to diverse plant and animal species. They even sequester large amounts of carbon, which helps offset the rising levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. However, most of the rainforests are facing deforestation due to development. Although we are not located within the tropics, we are still connected to them.Fact 2. The North Platte NRD can provide presentations and activities for specific grades and apply to specific standards. The standards include both Science and Social Studies Standards.
