Drop-in and create.  This is an Open Art session with clay. These sessions are available twice a month for a $12.50 studio  fee each night.  Basic clay instruction on clay hand-building and tool usage will be provided. (sorry no wheels)  Your fee is your studio fee, clay can be purchased for $3.50/ pound.  The clay fee includes the first firing in the kiln (bisque fire).  Later come to a Glaze Night. You pay a studio fee of $12.50. Your glaze fee is $3.50/pound of clay used. On this day your glaze fee will include glaze and glaze firing in the kiln to create your functional ceramic piece. This is drop-in first, come/first serve for spaces.  Cash is preferred but cards are accepted. *********WE NOW HAVE CLAY NIGHT 2 WEEKS IN A ROW SO YOU HAVE MORE TIME TO WORK ON A PROJECT!!! Lana’s Tie Dye Workshop Grades 3 and up!*Students registered for Draw & Paint will be supervised, at no charge, between this camp and the Tie Dye Workshop.   July 7th @ 1:00pm – 3:00pm   $50.00 per student-This includes material cost of professional grade materials, and one on one instructions!   Fees include 2 T-shirts (sizes to be chosen on registration form) and one bandana to dye up.   -This is a workshop for children/ youth grades 3 and up or age equivalent   -THIS IS AN OUTDOOR EVENT – rain date is the next day,  July 8th, 1pm-3pm , please keep both dates open   -In the unlikely event that both dates get rained out, the class will be rescheduled to a date TBD   Come spend an afternoon creating your own tie dye!  Each person will be given two shirts and one bandanna to dye up in any colors and patterns they would like! Lana will provide instruction on specific designs and patterns, or you are welcome to freestyle and create whatever comes to you. Students will be able to use professional grade dyes (non toxic) for tie dying, and achieve much brighter colors than store bought tie dye kits.   Gloves will be provided, please have children wear play clothes or clothes you wouldn’t mind getting stained   Materials= $15 Instruction= $35 Total=$50   Registration: There is a limit on class size – Register today!!!  We need 5 students to run this great workshop, please tell your children’s friends about this workshop!   To register, please email Lana at [email protected] for a registration form and payment link     Registration Deadline: Register by July 2nd. Are you ready to dive into the colorful world of acrylic painting? In this fun and hands-on two hour workshop, you’ll paint along with Natalie as she shows you how to paint a complete Sunflower Field painting using acrylic paints. You’ll have time to chat and relax while you paint and we’ll be offering local made Squamscot soda and snacks. All supplies are included—just bring your curiosity and be sure to wear something you won’t mind getting a little paint on – just in case!Painting experience is not necessary. Beginners are welcome as are experienced painters. You’ll learn from Natalie Rotman Cote, a NH artist with 25+ years of experience creating art in many different mediums. She loves helping others learn new creative skills in a no-pressure setting.

This Is Puppetry  Ever wonder how those puppets you see on television and in movies are made? In this class I teach you the secrets to building your very own foam patterned hand and rod puppet and all the materials, elements, and skills that go into making them look so real and lifelike.  We will also learn fundamentals to creating a character through the use of color, texture, different materials, and movement, as well as how to manipulate your puppet to bring your character to life.  These puppets are sewn and covered in fleece using the “Henson” or “Ladder” stitch.  No previous puppetry skills needed, (basic hand sewing skills are helpful)  just your imagination and creativity are required. *Eric Weiss, of HomeSlice Pupperty, is a CCS guest artist,  is a talented puppet maker that shares his skills with Creative Community Space young artists a couple of times a year.
