The Art Explorers Club is supportive of the artistic interests of individuals with developmental disabilities.  Art Explorers Club members are presented with a project that they can make, or they can experiment with the materials.  This group is open to teens and adults with their support person(s). We meet twice a month on the first and third Wednesdays. You must pre-register for this club. Please see below. *If you would like your group or individuals to join Art Explorers Club or would like us to offer  a club for your group – Please email Vandy at [email protected] After you assure there is room, it becomes a “drop-in” class.

(Kindergarten students can join Thursdays starting in January – see bottom of the page) We will meet Wednesdays from 3:15 – 4:15.  Epping Elemenary students will be picked up and walked down from school by CCS Staff. Non-walker information below.   Register for a 4 week “Session” or a full “Semester” and receive a semester discount.                              If you are registering by session, you must renew your registration monthly by emailig Vandy at [email protected] or speaking to her directly  on or before the 2nd day of the current session. Epping students will be picked up at school and walked down to the Arts Center by the Creative Community Space group leader.  Students should bring a snack to eat before we begin Art Club activities. These items will be fired in a kiln, and then students will paint or glaze them.  If they are glazed, they will be fired in the kiln again to make a functional ceramic piece.  Projects will vary from specific skill-building to free-choice with skill demonstration. *This is an introduction to Hand-Building with clay. This class is for students in 1st grade through 8th grade or age equivalent. Clay is a medium that is easy to differentiate for different age/grade levels. This class will run 6 weeks.  Thursdays from 11 – 12:15,  April 16th, 23, May 7, 14, 21, 28. We need a minimum of 5 students to run this class – Maximum of 10. We currently have 3 interested students.  Please reach out if your child would like to join MS Art Club!  [email protected] Come create your way!  Middle School Art Club is a social art group that is full of choice!  Students are shown tools and techniques and given some examples of the ways they are used and can then explore their own creativity.  The group is also shown examples of how art is powerful!  This feeds their creative self-esteem as they create for self-expression. Please reach out if you have questions about this group!  [email protected] Students walk down from the Epping Middle School on their own- to arrive at the Art Center around 2:30.  (Vandy will walk them down the first time – and again if requested) Students from districts other than Epping should be dropped off by 2:40. “It’s Alive!” (Stuffed Animal Puppets): (Grades 3 & up, 2-2.5 Hrs.) What would happen if Dr. Frankenstein were let loose in a toy shop?  Now I know what you are thinking: my child will be devastated and traumatized if we cut their favorite stuffed animal apart to create a puppet!  Relax, my friends, I will supply an array of cleaned, used stuffed animals to dissect.  This class is a great and unique way to teach students about hand puppets.  In this class, each student will begin with a stuffed animal, which we will then proceed to turn into a hand puppet by opening it up, learning to pattern its mouth, and constructing & installing a mouth plate.  Miraculously, this will animate a formerly inanimate object, turning it from a mere toy into a puppet. Creative Community Staff will pick students up at Epping Elementary School and walk them down to the Art Center.  Students who are commuting should arrive by 3:35.
