Cinco’s Cantina, a local, family-owned Mexican restaurant with locations in Rochester, Dover, and Epping, is proud to announce a month-long fundraising initiative in support of Gather, a nonprofit dedicated to ending food insecurity in the Seacoast region. The fundraiser will run from Wednesday, October 1, through Friday, October 31, 2025. Cinco’s has set a $5,000 fundraising goal in support of Gather’s mission. Throughout the month, guests at any of Cinco’s three locations will have the chance to enjoy exclusive food and cocktail offerings, with a portion of these featured items going directly to Gather: San Jose Burrito: straight from the family’s recipe book. Grilled chicken, chorizo, rice and beans. Topped with melted Mexican cheese and pico de gallo. Cinnamon Apple Margarita: blends crisp apple flavor with a hint of cinnamon spice for the perfect balance of sweet and bold. One-Day Scarf Weaving Workshop Saturday, November 1, 9, 16, or 22, 2025 10 AM – 2 PM Join the expert weavers at Strawbery Banke Museum for a one-day workshop to create a handwoven scarf, approximately 8 inches wide and up to 60 inches long, from start to finish. This session is suitable for beginners and experienced participants alike and provides an opportunity to craft a unique piece for yourself or as a holiday gift. Each participant will begin with a neutral wool base, which will form the majority of the scarf. You may select one or more highlight colors, Azure Blue, Evergreen, or Chianti Red, to incorporate into your weaving. Under the guidance of our skilled weavers, you will learn fundamental techniques, explore creative color combinations, and experiment with basic treadling sequences to develop your scarf. Norberto will share his artwork with museum guests, do a demonstration, and answer questions. This special guest visit celebrates Mexican folk art and culture, and Norberto’s beautiful finished carvings will be on display. Visitors can take inspiration from Norberto’s style and make a Day of the Dead inspired craft. For some children, a museum visit is challenging and over-stimulating. The Exploring Our Way: Sensory Friendly Playtimes at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire in Dover are exclusive to families of children with special needs. These reduced admission, low-sensory events are designed for children with autism spectrum or sensory processing disorders to explore the Museum along with their families without the noise, crowds, and stimulation of a typical day. The museum is closed to the public during Exploring our Way playtimes. We limit attendance, turn down sounds and lights, provide a quiet zone with sensory activities, and have noise canceling headphones to borrow. A medical diagnosis is not required. Have you always wondered what a family heirloom or old baseball card collection is worth? Do you have a coin collection or jewelry that you’d like to know more about? Have it appraised by one of six expert antiques dealers at this fundraising event for Friends of the Newfields Public Library. When: Saturday, November 8, 2025, 10am - 1pm Where: The Brook Casino, 319 New Zealand Road, Seabrook, NH More details: Appraisal Fee Donation is being requested with a limit of 3 items per person. No firearms or weapons of any kind. Items must be small enough to fit in your lap and be hand carried inside the venue. Must be 18+ to enter. One-Day Scarf Weaving Workshop Saturday, November 1, 9, 16, or 22, 2025 10 AM – 2 PM Join the expert weavers at Strawbery Banke Museum for a one-day workshop to create a handwoven scarf, approximately 8 inches wide and up to 60 inches long, from start to finish. This session is suitable for beginners and experienced participants alike and provides an opportunity to craft a unique piece for yourself or as a holiday gift. Each participant will begin with a neutral wool base, which will form the majority of the scarf. You may select one or more highlight colors, Azure Blue, Evergreen, or Chianti Red, to incorporate into your weaving. Under the guidance of our skilled weavers, you will learn fundamental techniques, explore creative color combinations, and experiment with basic treadling sequences to develop your scarf. Museum staff will highlight play-based learning practices and share social opportunities for new parents and caregivers. Also joining us will be friends from local new parent services groups, including Portsmouth Regional Hospital, sponsor of the Museum’s Baby Feeding Room. This event is free and open to all families who are expecting or have welcomed a new baby through adoption, birth, or foster care. Babies and siblings are welcome to attend. Registration is required.
