Chair yoga class led by Linda Hopper, Mondays at 1 pm. Classes are donation-based. Registration is required for each date.  Dress in comfortable clothes that will allow you to move freely.  All participants must sign a Waiver of Liability prior to attending a class at the library. YOU ONLY NEED TO COMPLETE THIS FORM ONCE. Print copies are available at the library, or download the waiver to print, sign, and hand in to the library staff before entering the class.  Instructor bio Linda Hopper began her yoga journey in 1995. Since then, she has been certified to teach Kripalu yoga, Kundalini yoga, restorative yoga, energy medicine yoga, and meditation. Additionally, Linda is a Reiki master and an Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) coach. Linda lives with her husband, John, in Center Harbor during the cooler months and on Bear Island in the summer. If you could name one woman from the American Revolutionary period, it should be Mercy Otis Warren. Warren is an unsung hero of the American Revolution whose name should sit next to Jefferson and Paine in terms of impact, but social custom and time have erased her. Warren was the leading female intellectual of the Revolution and early republic. Come learn about the first American to demand independence, and the first historian of the Revolution, who mercilessly attacked federalism prompting an insulted John Adams to say, "perhaps history is not the province of the ladies." Presenter bio: Kelsie Brook Eckert is the Coordinator of Social Studies Education at Plymouth State University, the Executive Director of the Remedial Herstory Project, and the State Coordinator for National History Day in New Hampshire. She is a multi-award winning history teacher and author of Teaching Women's History: Breaking Barriers and Undoing Male Centrism in K-12 Curriculum. Learn to speak with American Sign Language, taught by teacher Patty Mcquone. No previous experience necessary. Patty McQuone serves as an Administrative Assistant at Moultonborough Academy, where she also leads an American Sign Language (ASL) enrichment class for students in grades 6–12. Having grown up communicating in ASL with her younger brother, who was born deaf, has instilled a deep respect and advocacy for the Deaf community. Patty developed a lifelong passion for supporting individuals of all abilities. She finds great fulfillment in fostering an inclusive environment and sharing her expertise with the school community. This enrichment class is designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of ASL, focusing on practical communication skills that allow for comfortable and meaningful interactions with deaf or hard of hearing individuals. Our Caregiver’s Group meets every Friday morning at 10 a.m. at the Moultonborough Library, offering a relaxed and welcoming space for anyone in a caregiving role. It’s a place where we truly get it—we spend our time listening, sharing helpful tips, blowing off a little steam, and making sure there’s plenty of room for laughter, too. Over time, our group has even put together its own collection of resources and documents filled with firsthand advice on navigating the more trying chapters of caregiving. Whether you need some practical information or just a friendly ear and a cup of coffee, we’d love to have you join us.
