Egar.  Valuerie Egar’s poetry has been published in Barrow Street, Lullwater Review, Poetry Northwest, Yankee Magazine, The Christian Science Monitor, River Styx, Kelsey Review and many other journals. She has studied at The New School in New York and at workshops throughout the country with Elaine Equi, Mark Doty, Brigit Pegeen Kelly, Betsy Sholl and others. Our array of 14 programs, offering over 50 different services, assists more than 25,000 individuals and families every year in Coös, Carroll, and Grafton Counties. For many of the families we serve, TCCAP programs make the difference between struggling to survive and the opportunity to become self-sufficient. REGISTRATION LINK: extension.unh.edu/event/2025/06/women-woods-intro-digital-mapping Curious about the natural resources on your property? We have a wealth of information just a few clicks away using free online mapping tools like GRANITView, Google Earth, and ArcGIS Online. Join UNH Cooperative Extension County Foresters Wendy Scribner and Lindsay Watkins for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn the basics of using these applications to explore your land and surrounding areas. Discover habitat types, soils, wetlands, water features, and topography. Learn how to view aerial photos, find your property boundaries using town tax map data, and explore how your land has changed over time through historic imagery. We’ll walk through how to access various data layers and interpret what you’re seeing. There will be plenty of time to explore your own property online and ask questions along the way. To get the most out of the workshop, please plan to bring a laptop or tablet if you can; we will also have a few devices to share. All mapping tools and data sources used are publicly available and free to access. Colonel Bill Moran of the Civil Air Patrol, U.S. Air Force Auxiliary speaks about how the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) assists agencies such as Fish and Game with search and rescue missions. Moran, a New Hampshire resident, was the pilot for the air mission to help find Kate Matrosova, a search described in detail in Ty Gagne's book Where You'll Find Me: Risk, Decisions, and the last climb of Kate Matrosova. Moran will introduce the work of the Civil Air Patrol and speak about his experience during the search mission for Matrosova, how the Civil Air Patrol became involved, the resources, aircraft, search equipment and aircrews used, the extreme conditions faced including winds gusting to 110 MPH, understanding satellite data from the Personal Locator Beacon Matrosova was wearing, and more.
