Join us as we follow and trace the migration of monarch butterflies!  Lunch will be served.  Monarch butterflies are, perhaps, the most well-known butterfly species in the world with the most highly evolved migration pattern of any known insect.  With their parchment-thin wings, they fly 3,000 miles to, and from, Canada and the United States to their overwintering sites in the oyamel fir forests in Mexico's central highlands.  Join Eve Fralick on her visually stunning travelogue as she shares the spellbinding sight of millions of fluttering wings as they fill the forest skies.  Learn why the monarch population has been so seriously compromised in recent years and what you can do to help sustain monarch butterflies here at home.  While in Mexico, you'll also experience a sunrise hot-air balloon flight over, and tour of, Teotihuacan, a United Nations World Heritage Site with the third largest pyramid in the world...as well as the Comovitral, a huge botanical garden encircled by ceiling-to-floor stained glass murals.  Eve Fralick is a resident of Greenland, New Hampshire. She began her career as a United States Air Force officer traveling internationally to develop and implement multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art, telecommunications programs. After leaving the military, she worked in healthcare technology and as an adjunct faculty member at Southern New Hampshire University's Graduate School of Business. She holds Master degrees in Public Health and Systems Management. Eve's passion is hiking far off the beaten path around the world. Register here: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/4217575162689/WN_jDjoGkvxReue3kWlBb_hQQ#/registration Registrants will receive a link to access the Zoom Webinar via email.**   The aerial visits of the Flying Santa to lighthouses and lifesaving stations have been a New England tradition since 1929. The program was inaugurated by Bill Wincapaw, a pioneering Maine pilot. Edward Rowe Snow, the popular New England historian and storyteller, became involved in the 1930s and kept the flights going through 1980. Today, the nonprofit organization Friends of Flying Santa works to continue the flights as a gesture of gratitude to the men, women, and families of the Coast Guard who keep watch over our coastal waters. Thousands of hours are volunteered each year to ensure the success of the helicopter flights that include the children of Coast Guard families from Maine to New York. As you may know, Jeremy D'Entremont is one of our very favorite speakers so we hope you'll join us for another wonderful discussion! RECORDING NOTE: This program will be recorded. In recent years, the funeral industry has drawn attention from the scientific community concerning the potential pollution of the environment. In response, "green" burials -- interment of the dead with minimal environmental impact -- have become more popular as more states and funeral homes embrace the process, including here in New Hampshire. Come out to learn about green burials, what they entail, how to plan for one, and what to know about green burials in the Seacoast.  Sarah Arslanian is a death doula, holistic caregiver, and 34-year-old “old soul” living in Stratham. She is founder of Lotus and Lavender Natural Burial, which supports green burial in the Seacoast by establishing natural burial cemeteries and providing education and guidance around green burial practices.
