Questions? Call the Somerset County Recycling Center at 732-469-3363 Bi-weekly Curbside Pick-up is provided by Somerset County. For the Curbside Pick-up Schedule and First Saturday Recycling and Electronics Drop-Off Schedules, plus rules on what and how to recycle, go to the Somerset County website’s recycling page at:  co.somerset.nj.us/recycle/ Please note that this schedule may be subject to occasional minor delays due to storms or other unforeseen circumstances.  Please leave your recycling at curbside or contact the above number to inquire. Recycling Bins are provided by Somerset County. Each household is allowed two bins for no charge and additional bins at $10 each. They may be picked up by new residents in the vestibule of the Montgomery Twp. Municipal Building, 2261 Rt. 206, Belle Mead, NJ 08502 M-F 8:00am-4:30pm. Please check in with the receptionist first.

First Saturday of the Month Drop-off event from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Somerset County Recycling Center, located at 40 Polhemus Lane.   Proof of residency is required (a current driver's license, valid lease, tax bill or other bill with a Som. Cty. address.) Pre-registration is not required.  No businesses or commercial vehicles are allowed.  Please note that the July event will take place on July 10, due to the Independence Day Holiday. All curbside recycled items and up to 8 tires, used oil, oil filters, anti-freeze, and scrap metals are accepted. (Textiles no longer accepted. Please recycle used textiles at local charity donation bins.) For a complete listing of recyclable items, recycling events and much more, visit www.co.somerset.nj.us/recycle . Social distancing is required: Residents must wear facial coverings. Only one occupant per vehicle is allowed. Occupants should remain in their vehicles and staff will be available at every station to remove their items. Residents can recycle electronic waste on designated Saturdays throughout the year and on weekdays. Social distancing is required: Residents must wear facial coverings. Occupants should remain in their vehicles with the windows shut until otherwise directed. Residents are required to remove items from their vehicles without assistance from the staff, but staff will tell residents where to put their items. Proof of residency is required: Residents must have a current driver’s license, valid lease, tax bill or any other bill that shows proof of a Somerset County address. Pre-registration is not required. Businesses or commercial vehicles are NOT allowed. Saturday drop-offs:  8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South County Public Works Garage, 410 Roycefield Road, Hillsborough 08844. 2019 Dates:  Jan. 9, Feb. 6, March 6, April 3, May 1, June 5, July 10 (due to the July 4th holiday), Aug. 7, Sept. 11, Oct. 2, Nov. 6 and Dec. 4.  Weekday drop-offs:  Discontinued at this time. The following materials are accepted:  computers (desktops and laptops), monitors (cathode-ray tube and flat panel), televisions (cathode-ray tube and flat panel), copiers, digital cameras, DVD players, e-book readers, fax machines, MP3 players, personal digital assistants (PDAs), printers, stereos, radio equipment, VCRs, audio visual equipment, typewriters, camcorders, telephones, cellular phones, circuit boards, modems, telephone mainframes, keyboards, mice, scanners, cables, wiring, power supplies, mainframe equipment and controllers. Batteries are not accepted:  Residents can recycle household hazardous waste and lithium and rechargeable batteries at any of the five scheduled Household Hazardous Waste drop-off events held at different locations around the county.  AA, AAA, D, C and 9 volt batteries can be disposed in the regular trash.
