Grab your flashlights and get ready to behold an annual spring phenomenon: Horseshoe Crab spawning on the Cape May Harbor!  Walk along the shoreline with a Nature Center Naturalist and learn all about Horseshoe Crab ecology and life history. Plus, help this keystone species by flipping them over while listening to the tale of Red Knots, an endangered species lovingly nicknamed the “Moon Bird”. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Children may not participate without an adult. Please bring flashlights (cell phone flashlights work too!). We may walk up to a mile, over generally level surfaces. Some surfaces may be sandy, slippery, or uneven. Please dress for the weather and wear waterproof footwear. Join us for a reTURN the Favor walk organized by New Jersey Audubon to help rescue stranded horseshoe crabs and learn more about them along the way. This event is great for all ages. Be sure to wear shoes that can get wet, and be prepared for the conditions, including bug spray and sun protection. We will begin the program in the Nature Center’s Aqua Lab before venturing onto the harbor beach to search for horseshoe crabs! PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED COST: FREE Interested in becoming a member?
