About Us
The Bergen Volunteer Center turns caring into meaningful action by engaging volunteers to meet community needs. Our transformative direct service programs include: Mentoring Youth and Mentoring Moms, which provides 1:1 intensive mentoring to mothers and children that face overwhelming challenges; The Chore Service, which provides home repairs that keep the elderly and disabled safe in their homes; Bergen LEADS, a learning and leadership program for adults who live or work in Bergen County; Youth Engagement, connects young people with community service opportunities, service learning and leadership programs; and a Volunteer Services database that receives over 150,000 searches for volunteer jobs annually.
