Join us as we welcome back the Imagine Arts Academy for a series of Summer Crayola Workshops.  Work with fabulous instructors as you take a trip around the world, working with art forms from Australia, Mexico, Europe, Africa and China!  Space is limited to 15 participants each week.  Registration will open up on the morning of each class day at 10 AM.  Call or email the library at [email protected] to reserve your spot This unique company was developed as a collaborative effort between Mad Science and Crayola. We fully believe that art and education can make this world a better place for the next generation. All children in 2nd grade and up are invited to join instructors from Jersey City studio, Kennedy Dancers, as they offer a free six-week Latin Dance Workshop on Mondays at 2:00 PM starting on July 6. This class will introduce our young students to the styles of salsa, bachatta and merengue! Kennedy Dancers is a non-profit Jersey City Based Professional, American Dance Company established in 1976 with a mission of bringing high-quality dance training and professional performance opportunities to the NY/NJ Metro area. The company was founded by Artistic Director Diane Dragone to bring dance performances to Jersey City, greater Hudson County, and the tri-state area. This class will be free of charge. All kids in 2nd grade and up are invited to join us for a special Summer Minecraft Gaming Workshop with TD3 Gaming.  Seating will be limited to only 15 participants.  If interested in attending one of our sessions, call or email the library at [email protected] on the morning of each class starting at 10 AM to reserve your spot. Librarians turn to TD3 Innovative Gaming to ideate, create, and deliver interactive, hands-on learning experiences through Minecraft, Roblox, and coding.  Activities span a variety of themes, including STEM, financial literacy, space, fairy tales, math, and much more!

Join us for a unique Henna Workshop, open to all children in 1st grade and up.  Space is limited.  If interested, please register on the day of the class, starting at 10 am, by calling the KPL or emailing us at [email protected] Our Henna (Mehendi) Workshop is a beginner-friendly, hands-on session that introduces participants to the art and cultural significance of henna—deeply rooted in traditions across India and South Asian communities beyond. The session includes a brief introduction, guided practice of simple designs, and the opportunity for participants to create their own patterns, either on their hands or on paper.  We provide all materials, including natural, skin-safe henna, and design the experience to be relaxed, creative, and accessible for all.
