Did you know that on Memorial day in 1900 Madison’s first public library (and the home to METC) opened? Come celebrate the 125th anniversary of the James Library Building and learn about its history as well as other architectural gems in downtown Madison with the museum’s Executive Director. This includes a short walking tour.  Pre-registration is required. Price includes museum admission. $15/person, free for METC members.

Join us for the last Makerspace of the 2024-2025 school year on June 7 between 11am and 3pm at the METC Education Annex at 23 Main Street, Madison, NJ. Whether you are looking for a kid-friendly project or for something creative to do after spending time at our Museum, Makerspace is the place to be with hands-on activities in our collaborative work space geared towards kids ages 5 to 12! Kids will use our 3D printer, build with Legos, make jewelry, experiment with our marble run and coding robots, and more! Children must be accompanied by guardians at all times.  $10/family, $15/Makerspace plus museum admission, free for members

METC’s free Summer Concert Series sponsored by the DDC is back! Enjoy a FREE night of music this summer on Fridays from 6-8pm. Bring your own chair or blanket to sit and listen to some great performances. Put on your dancing shoes for Mama D and the Vexations on Friday, July 11! Formed in 2014, Mama D & The Vexations is a high-energy cover band based out of Morristown, NJ. Their renditions of hits from the 60s through today keep the crowd moving all night long, always chanting “One More Song!” The band features Donna Ward on vocals (Fanwood, NJ), Nick Malishchak on guitar (Madison, NJ), Jasmine Bloch-Krempels on bass (Vauxhall, NJ), John Holmok on drums (South Orange, NJ) and Chris Bleeke on keys/trumpet (Dunellen, NJ). The band’s unique take on a wide variety of classic rock, pop, country and soul tunes keeps them performing regularly at weddings, private parties, and bars throughout North Jersey.
