Session 1: Fridays, September 19, 26, October 3, 10 and 17          10:30 AM to 12 PM Session 2: Fridays, October 24, 31, Nov 7, 14, 21     10:30 AM to 12 PM The fall season has so many cool things happening in nature. Weâll explore these changes first-hand by visiting the diverse habitats in the park and creating a page for our book every week that when bound together will create a story of the places and things we have discovered. Each Friday starts with a nature-focused story that will inspire an exploratory hike. Natural materials seen and collected along the trail can be used to create artworkâthe pages in our âbook.â From mushroom prints and natureâs paints to colorful fall leaf collages, children will have created a collection of memories from our adventures together. The program is primarily outdoors, but moves indoors for inclement weather. Cost: (with a current Rancocas Nature Center membership): $60/per child/per 5-week session. Sunday, November 2       12:30 to 3:30 PM  The Rancocas Nature Center has organized three supervised stewardship conservation project days for fall 2025. Itâs a great way for scouts and other youth ages 13 to 17 years-old to get out into nature and accumulate service hours. Parental consent is required, and parents are welcome to volunteer, too. Activities vary depending on the season, but often include removal of invasive species and mulching native plant enclosures and gardens. Volunteers should bring water, work gloves, and dress in work clothes, including appropriate footwear. The Manasquan Inlet is host to a good variety of sea ducks, loons, and winter shorebirds this time of year. This area is known to produce some of the most interesting sightings. A second stop at Lake of the Lilies will offer views of the winter ducks that have arrived. Dress for wind and weather, bring water, lunch, binoculars, and a scope if you have one. Trip leaders Bob Leifeste, Audrey Dorofy, and Mary Belko will have scopes to share.
