The Old Six Day is back for another year at the Jack Curtis Stadium at Cooper River.  Come out and cheer on ultra-marathoners from around the country as they compete in the revival of The Edward Payson Weston Six Day.  Runners will be competing in time groups starting at 6 hours all the way up to the full 144-hour challenge! Please note that the track will be closed to the public starting Monday 4/6 and reopening on Monday 4/13.

The Camden County Board of Commissioners is offering a supportive and informative series designed specifically for family caregivers. “Stress Busting for Family Caregivers” provides a welcoming space to learn practical tools for managing stress while connecting with others who understand the challenges of caregiving. Held on select dates from April through July at the Camden County Library System in Voorhees, these sessions focus on helping participants better understand how stress impacts both the body and mind. Attendees will build problem-solving skills for everyday situations and practice simple, effective stress management techniques. The program may include guided breathing, meditation, imagery, art, and other relaxation strategies aimed at improving overall well-being. Offered in a hybrid format, caregivers can join in person or virtually, making it accessible for a variety of schedules and needs. This series encourages caregivers to take time for themselves—offering not just helpful resources, but also a sense of community, connection, and renewal.

The Lawnside Historical Society invites you to an 8-month book club series exploring âCombee: Harriet Tubman, the Combahee River Raid, and Black Freedom during the Civil Warâ by Dr. Edda Fields-Black. As custodians of the Peter Mott House, we are uniquely positioned to connect the history in Combee with our own site of freedom and resistance. The Combee Book Club will meet online and in-person at the Mott House, 26 Kings Court, Lawnside, NJ.  Each 90-minute session will include three engaging components: Book Discussion â Talk through the assigned chapters together.UGRR Activity â Connect the reading to our house and its history.Genealogy Activity â Learn how to use historical records (like plantation inventories, church registers, Freedmenâs Bureau contracts, USCT enlistments, and pensions) to uncover the lives of freedom seekers. This book club is more than a reading group â itâs a way to link scholarship, genealogy, and our communityâs history.
