Rev your engines and come to Landis Avenue for one of Vineland’s most anticipated annual events—Wheels on the Ave! This beloved community tradition brings together car enthusiasts, families, and visitors from across the region for a day filled with classic cars, custom builds, and local pride. Yes, it’s Cruise Night on Landis Ave – now with another great feature for car lovers! Stop into the Vineland Convention Center any time from 3 to 8 pm on Cruise Night and check out offerings from local auto vendors. Maybe you’ll find that part you’ve been looking for, or maybe even learn about a new service provider or car club.   Millions of dollars worth of vintage and exotic cars will again line Landis Avenue as Cruise Down Memory Lane returns to downtown Vineland—The Ave. This event attracts almost 1,500 American cars—over one mile of cars—and is open to street rods, muscle cars, stock or custom classics, rat rods, and cruisers. The gates will open at 5 pm at West Avenue and East Avenue and all participating vehicles must enter through the gate. At 6:30 pm., the gates will close and cars will remain parked for display. For more information on the event, call Marv at (856) 697-6306 prior to the event or on the day of the show at 856-200-1450. You can also call the Main Street Vineland office at 856-794-8653. No cruising will take place after the event ends at 9 pm, and all traffic laws will be enforced.  The event is open to American marque cars only. They must be 1974 or older unless it is a highly modified late model or a car entering with a legitimate car club. No motorcycles, bikes, foreign cars, or partially-primed vehicles will be allowed. Period correct cars are allowed upon approval. Admission is subject to the Cruise Down Memory Lane staging and gate personnel. Ineligible vehicles will be towed away at the owner’s expense. No special parking arrangements and no alcoholic beverages will be allowed. Any car club entry must enter the gates with their club.

Just ask Paul Thorn, who’s spent three decades turning soulful grooves and small syllables into songs that pack a big wallop. Maybe he learned the power of minimalism from his years as a pro boxer; maybe it just comes naturally. But whether he’s targeting heads, hearts, hips or the occasional funny bone, he somehow manages to condense large nuggets of wisdom into tight little mantras, the kind embroiderers stitched onto pillows before internet memes existed.   Thorn’s new album, Life is Just A Vapor, contains some beauties: “Life is a vapor, let’s live it while we can”; “tough times don’t last, but tough people do” (from “Tough Times Don’t Last”); “any mountain up ahead is just a hill” (from “Old Melodies”). Join CU Maurice River for an engaging and informative program on dragonflies presented by CU Maurice River Trustee and Naturalist Tony Klock. This session will explore the fascinating life cycle, behaviors, and ecological importance of these vibrant aerial hunters. Often admired for their beauty and dexterity on the wing, dragonflies are also powerful indicators of healthy wetlands and waterways. As highly efficient aquatic and terrestrial predators, they play an important role in keeping insect populations, including mosquitoes, in balance. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how dragonflies fit into healthy ecosystems while also exploring ways you can help protect and provide habitat for these magnificent creatures.   Following the presentation, participants will take part in a hands-on container pond workshop to create a small water feature that supports dragonflies and other beneficial wildlife. Each participant will receive native aquatic plants and guidance on building a simple, starter wildlife-friendly habitat that can thrive even in a small yard. Participants should bring their own watertight container, approximately 15 gallons in size; suggested materials include plastic, galvanized steel, or rubber. During the workshop, attendees will add organic materials and aquatic plants to each container while discussing basic setup and maintenance techniques. Attendees will leave with a completed starter container pond, practical tips for creating and maintaining wildlife-friendly spaces, and a deeper appreciation for the biodiversity that can flourish right outside our doors. Participants may wish to bring note-taking supplies. Don't forget to bring your container!
