Preschool Story Time

Every Wednesday at 10am, join us for Preschool Story Time at Carlsbad Public Library! Your 3 to 5 year old will enjoy facilitated play to encourage the development of pre-reading sills through stories, songs, rhymes, and narrative!

Designed for Impact Safe Driver is a training program that addresses the distressing record of serious injury and fatality crashes involving personal and light-duty company vehicles in the oil and gas explo-ration and production industry. The program combines four hours of instructor-led classroom instruction to equip oil and gas industry drivers with the knowledge and skills to operate vehicles safely in challenging environments. Students will learn about industry-specific hazards, defensive driving tech-niques, vehicle monitoring systems, standard company policies, and emergency response protocols. The program’s goal is to ensure that drivers are well-prepared to navigate the unique challenges of the industry while prioritizing safety at all times. Course Outline — 4 hours 1. Introduction: Scope, statistics, and the impact of SIF crashes. 2. Preparing to Drive: Emphasis on seat belt usage, visibility, vehicle inspection and vehicle ergonom-ics. 3. The Big Five: In-depth analysis of the five major factors contributing to vehicle crashes— Speeding, Tailgating, Distracted Driving, Fatigue, and Drugs and Alcohol. 4. Dynamic Roadway: Navigating situational aware-ness, intersections, and potential hazards. 5. Industry-Endorsed Safe Driving Tools and Policies: Journey management, parking considerations, and the role of telematics. 6. Oil and Gas Driving Hazards: Specific challenges and hazards encountered in the industry. 7. Review and Testing: Key points recap and end-of-class test. Certifications Upon successful completion of the course, students receive their Veriforce ID card. This card reflects Veriforce course requirements the student has met. Employers may verify student training on the ID card or online at www.PECCARD.com.
