Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs’ mobile museum! Highlighting ideals of freedom and self-government embedded in the Declaration, this exhibition traces the development of those same ideals in New Mexico. * Touch objects created by New Mexicans to express their political perspectives. * Use a nib pen to compose your own “declaration” on parchment in the 18th-century writing style.  * Handle coin replicas and a military shield, symbols of Spanish colonial rule.  * Try on Mexican-style clothing, illustrating the period when New Mexico was part of independent Mexico, an enduring cultural connection.  * Learn to operate a printing press and make your own zine. * Try out a ranked choice voting simulator.
