On a two year journey to Mars astronauts will face extraordinary challengesâlong distance, a closed environment, isolation, altered gravity, radiation. What will it take to get astronauts to Marsâand backâsafely? This new, animated planetarium production highlights NASA research and training initiatives that are preparing the next generation of astronauts who will head to Mars. The Bell Museum collaborated with NASA and the University of North Carolina Morehead Planetarium and Science Center to create this planetarium show. Dive into a Mayan world of knowledge and learn about the importance of the orientation of the temples in relation to the movement of celestial bodies like the Sun, the Moon and Venus. Mayan Archaeoastronomy: Observers of the Universe is the first movie for full dome viewing, completely animated and made in Mexico. It is narrated in four languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese. The film was financed by the National Council of Science and Technology of Mexico, and produced by Frutos Digitales with the support of the European Southern Observatory (ESO).
