Get trained to help rescue animals in your free time! This class will cover the basics of wildlife rescue and transportation needed to become a volunteer rescuer at the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center. The class discusses how to safely handle animals ranging from small baby squirrels to large birds of prey, as well as how to transport them back to the hospital in ways that limits their stress so that they may be treated and hopefully released back into the wild. Anyone who attends the class is eligible to sign up as a volunteer where they will receive calls for rescues over the Groupme app. All rescues are done on a volunteer basis. This lecture features a visit by the Center's educational ambassador, Allen McButterpants the groundhog! Please note this program is limited to those 18 years of age or older.
