Saw Mill River Audubon volunteers will, once again, be staffing a Project Feeder Watch gathering every Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 am to 12 noon, at the Croton Point Park Nature Center.  SMRA will be providing the bird seed as well!  Stop by anytime to assist with this citizen science project that IDs and counts birds visiting bird feeders.  (Learn more about this international project that you can also do at your feeders by visiting www.feederwatch.org.) Join us on Wednesday, November 12 th at 7pm at the Chappaqua Library for a screening of “Tide and Time,” a short documentary (25 minutes) about one of New York City’s most celebrated conservationists, Don Riepe.Don has dedicated half his life to preserving the rich wildlife and salt marshes of Jamaica Bay. As he approaches his 85th birthday, the “Guardian of Jamaica Bay” reflects upon his achievements and attempts to inspire the next generation of caretakers. “Tide and Time” is the intimate portrait of a poet at the frontline of climate change whose love for nature has influenced hundreds of New Yorkers.After the screening, Don will join filmmakers Natalie Ruiz-Pérez and Naeem Amarsy for a panel discussion.
