Catch established and rising stars on Hudson Hall’s historic mainstage and encounter music in parks, bars, restaurants, independent retail stores, and farmers markets all weekend long. The 2026 festival celebrates the many voices, histories, and musical traditions that continue to shape jazz in America today. Highlights include the Afro-Cuban sounds of Sí o Sí Quartet led by Cuban-born MacArthur Fellow and GRAMMY-winning drummer Dafnis Prieto, a new Hudson Hall commission by South African vocalist Vuyo Sotashe and pianist Chris Pattishall, and a closing performance by acclaimed vocalist Shenel Johns, a talent praised by the Boston Globe as “history in the making”. “The mission of the festival is to bring people together for an experience that lifts spirits, brings joy, and inspires awe at the breadth of virtuoso talent on these stages. For over 25 years, Hawthorne Valley has offered this free festival to celebrate agriculture, ecology, education, art, and community! It has become an autumn tradition for thousands. This year’s festival will include many of our beloved activities, including a marionette performance by The Magical Puppet Tree, children’s craft activities, horse rides, cider pressing, hay rides, a vendor market, and more! Also, enjoy delicious, organic, local foods, live music, and a variety of local vendors and artisans! This event is rain or shine. The Steepletop grounds and trails will be open to explore, as will the Gift Shop, and The Jackson Gallery in the Tamarack Visitors Center will feature the exhibition “Edna St. Vincent Millay: Life at Steepletop, 1925-1950.” This collection presents artifacts from Millay’s 25 years at Steepletop. Docent-led 60-minute House tours are available at the times listed below. House tour tickets do not require advance purchase but are strictly limited. Purchasing these tickets in advance is strongly encouraged to secure your spot on a tour. Grounds and Picnic passes may be purchased in advance or on site on the days of the event. House Tour Tickets: $25.00 per person. Includes tour and single-day access to grounds, exhibition, and special events. Grounds and Picnic Pass: $10.00 per person.
