Ages 3 and up with accompanying adult. The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge â not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant. Tickets will be given to Plainview-Old Bethpage school residents beginning Sunday, March 15 at the Family Center. Limit 4 tickets per family. Photo I.D. or Library Card required. If there are extra tickets, they will be given out in person on Sunday, March 22 on a first come, first served basis. No children under three years of age and no strollers please. No food and beverages permitted. Plainview-Old Bethpage school district residents without tickets will be admitted followed by non-residents on the day of the program, space permitting.
