This is the annual business meeting of the Members of the Rye Free Reading Room for the election of new officers and trustees.Following the business meeting, we will adjourn into the Mayor's Award Program.The recipient of the 2025 Mayor's Award is the New York Times Best Selling Author Nathaniel Philbrick. NATHANIEL PHILBRICK is the New York Times bestselling author of In the Heart of the Sea, winner of the National Book Award and the basis of a film directed by Ron Howard; Mayflower, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize; a trilogy about the American Revolution that includes Valiant Ambition, winner of the George Washington Book Prize; Travels with George; and several other books about the history and literature of the United States. He was an All-American sailor at Brown University and lives on Nantucket Island, where he cofounded the Egan Maritime Institute. We will prepare the same recipe 2 weeks in a row to allow more children to participate. Please only choose one session for each recipe on the calendar.
