Join us every Saturday at the library any time between 10am and 2pm for some exploration and sensory play with our new STEM Sparks Maker Bins!This new passive program provides a great opportunity to introduce simple STEM concepts while encouraging play and exploration. These sensory friendly boxes will be filled with open-ended activites, materials aimed to boost fine and gross motor skills, and games to enhance problem-solving and decision-making skills through experimentations with different objects.Each month we will have a brand new bin to play with! Geared towards preschoolers ages 3 and up. Boxes may contain choking hazards and are not appropriate for children younger than 3.

Color Your World this summer at the Rye Free Reading Room!Visit the library on June 14th and sign up for the 2025 Summer Reading Program: Color Our World, plus participate in our fun-for-all-ages kickoff activity: Bubble Tie-Dye Bandanas! This event is rain or shine, and appropriate for children entering grade Kindergarten and up, teens, and adults. The special activity does require fine motor skill coordination, those with unsteady hands may require assistance. Advance registration is encouraged as supplies are limited. The library will provide all necessary materials to make one bandana per participant. Eye protection will also be available. Please keep in mind that dye may splatter and stain clothing, so dress appropriately.

Space is limited and preregistration is required. Signups begin on June 9th.
