Come to the library this spring to join Westchester NYC Urban Sketchers - a group of artists and creators - for a fun and supportive day of drawing or painting the beautiful grounds of the library. We'll meet in Meeting Room North South to chat and get set up, but most of the day will be spent sketching as you like. Stop back in Meeting Room North South around 12:30 pm for some cool drinks and to take a break while showing off your new creations!Basic materials such as paper, pens, and pencils will be available if you need extras. We encourage you to bring your own art supplies if you would like additional variety or quality of materials. Items such as clipboards, easels, or stools are not necessary to participate, but bringing them if you already have them can help ensure your comfort during the event.This event will be held rain or shine.Urban Sketchers is a global community of sketchers dedicated to the practice of on-location drawing. Please bring your tuned-up uke, extra copies of any music you wish to share, and a fervent desire to have fun with other ukulele players. Hawaiian shirts optional!All levels of skill are welcome, but knowledge of basic chords is necessary. No formal instruction will be provided, but our regular ukulele players love to help out beginners! You are also welcome to bring an accompanying instrument instead, such as harmonicas, bells, tambourines, kazoos, or your own voice.For those interested in getting started and learning more about ukulele music, YouTube has many great lessons and demonstrations.
