Join us in Meeting Room South for a ukulele jam session with others who love to sing and play music. Please bring your tuned-up uke, extra copies of any music you wish to share, and a fervent desire to have fun with other ukulele players. Hawaiian shirts optional!All levels of skill are welcome, but knowledge of basic chords is necessary. No formal instruction will be provided, but our regular ukulele players love to help out beginners! You are also welcome to bring an accompanying instrument instead, such as harmonicas, bells, tambourines, kazoos, or your own voice.For those interested in getting started and learning more about ukulele music, YouTube has many great lessons and demonstrations. The dazzling and lyrical Wicked, based on the Broadway musical and the 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire, brings themes of friendship, alienation, and courage to the big screen in the most successful musical adaptation ever made.Join us in the Scott Room for a screening and subsequent discussion of director John Chu's 2024 musical fantasy film Wicked. A reimagining of L. Frank Baum's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the film follows the perspective of Elphaba Thropp, the Wicked Witch of the West, during her childhood and school years. Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Galinda Upland lead an all-star cast telling the story of what happened before Dorothy Gale ever traveled from Kanas to Oz. This film is part of our celebration of Pride Month, showcasing queer stories and the LGBTQ+ actors, screenwriters, and directors, historical and contemporary, who contributed to American cinema. Light refreshments will be served during the film.

They understand the highs and lows, the sleep deprivation, the joys, the pressures, the role shifts, the challenges and even the fears associated with this perinatal period. Babes in arms welcome, but no toddlers please, if possible.This group is a judgement free zone. If you are running late, come anyway! If you are still in your Pajamas, come anyway!  Baby crying and won’t stop fussing, come anyway! We all understand that getting out of the house during the perinatal period is difficult but come anyway! This is time for you to take care of YOU.During the group we will combine brief education about mood and anxiety disorders that can get in the way of enjoying your family forming journey, along with support group time. There will be resources provided and lots of time to give and receive support from other group members.NO REGISTRATION REQUIREDAbout the group leader:Andrea Glover, LCSW, PMHC, has a private practice in Scarsdale, and specializes in perinatal, reproductive, maternal, and menopausal mental health.
