This pop-up ranger program explores the untold fight for women’s suffrage and civil rights among Chinese and Chinese American communities in the early 20th century. Learn about remarkable individuals like Dr. Mabel Ping-Hua Lee - a Chinese immigrant, scholar, and activist - who led a major, 1912 New York City suffrage parade with Harriet Stanton Blatch (daughter of Elizabeth Cady Stanton). Visitors during AAPI month will discover how Chinese American women championed universal women’s rights, even when their citizenship and the vote were denied under the Chinese Exclusion Act.

The table talk will take place on the first floor of the Visitor Center for Women's Rights National Historical Park. Please check with the Information Desk when you arrive.

This pop-up ranger program explores the untold fight for women’s suffrage and civil rights among Chinese and Chinese American communities in the early 20th century. Learn about remarkable individuals like Dr. Mabel Ping-Hua Lee - a Chinese immigrant, scholar, and activist - who led a major, 1912 New York City suffrage parade with Harriet Stanton Blatch (daughter of Elizabeth Cady Stanton). Visitors during AAPI month will discover how Chinese American women championed universal women’s rights, even when their citizenship and the vote were denied under the Chinese Exclusion Act.
