Each session will deal with a different topic. “Building a Strong Foundation” will cover course selection, GPA strategy, and balancing academics with extracurriculars. The series is intended to help high school teens establish a personalized roadmap to guide them in the college process. You’ll learn how to make the most of your four years in high school, setting yourself up for success in college and beyond. Explore the importance of striking a balance between academics and extracurricular activities, discover effective ways to cope with stress and anxiety, and uncover the secrets of securing internships, volunteer opportunities, and apprenticeships. Prepare yourself for standardized tests, conduct thorough research on colleges and universities, and gain the confidence to ace your interviews and make informed decisions. Grades K – 5. (Siblings share a time slot, so please only register ONE spot for your FAMILY.)  In this program, children will read to therapy dogs, which helps children develop their reading skills and their sense of compassion. They will also learn about animal-savvy behavior and volunteerism. The program will be led by volunteers from ROAR (Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue). It will take place on the first Thursday of each month. There are four 15-minute time slots available –  4:00 pm, 4:15 pm, 4:30 pm and 4:45 pm. Please register by FAMILY. (Siblings share a time slot, so please only register one spot for your FAMILY.) There will be two therapy dogs, so two families can register per time slot. Please register below for your desired time slot (the first one is 4 pm, second is 4:15 pm, etc). Since the time slots are only 15 minutes, please arrive promptly so you don’t miss any of your time! We have another great project for those who love to craft – and give back to others in our community! Come join the fun, crafting and assembling a gift bag of Valentine-themed goodies to be delivered to local Homebound Seniors. The Crafters will be making a “Chain of Good Wishes” for each senior using stencils and ultra-fine markers to decorate our five wishes for each senior: Peace, Joy, Health, Fun and Love. Crafters will then assemble and wrap the chains to add to the Valentine gift bags, which will contain a glass container of candy treats, a silk rose, and mini Boterkoek, courtesy of Peter Rose.No artistic experience necessary!Please register below.
