This is a skills training group for clients with substance use and mental health needs, which includes five core modules: Mindfulness Skills, Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills, Emotional Regulation Skills, Distress Tolerance Skills and The Middle Path. Participants will also be required to attend individual therapy sessions weekly.

The Friendship Club Group meets every Thursday night at MHA (The Mental Health Association of Rockland County) at 140 Route 303, Valley Cottage, NY 10989 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm in Suite I.Participants are any adult individual with a developmental disability who lives with family and enjoys the company of others, is comfortable in a group, is willing to travel with the group in a van, and is open to trying new experiences.The program provides weekly socialization activities in a friendly and warm environment where you have an opportunity to: Socialize with friends, enjoy dinner, move and stretch in a yoga program, enjoy interactive games, learn new leisure time activities, plan special events, do arts & craft projects, enjoy music and dancing, assist staff with activities, and enjoy community trips.To join or for questions, please call Naja at 845-267-2172 x284.
