Bring some-bunny special to the Nature Center on Saturday, April 4!Kids can hop into our egg scavenger hunt. Once you’ve cracked the clues, bring your completed sheet to the Membership Office for a prize!From 10 a.m. to noon, catch our bobcats, black bears, and otters enjoying some eggs-traordinary enrichment (guaranteed to crack some smiles). We’ll also have our amazing docents stationed throughout the park, sharing egg-citing facts about all things oval. Spring is stirring in the rivers of the Southern Appalachians! Our sketching focus is on the American river otter in Wild Seasons: Ripples & River Otters. Obi-Wan and Anakin will be our models as we explore methods of capturing water and moving creatures. We’ll begin with observational sketching, then layer in watercolor to bring depth and energy. Bring a sketchbook, pencils, and pen – watercolors and brushes provided. Beginners welcome. Ages 16+ Rain-or-shine. (We’ll be indoors and outdoors.). Tickets include admission and are nonrefundable. See the WNC Nature Center like never before – behind the scenes! During this intimate tour, we’ll explore how we feed and care for our animals, experience an animal enrichment session, and learn animal care secrets from our keepers. Only 10 tickets are available for each event. This adult tour is for ages 16 and up only. Physical Requirements: Participants must be able to stand for an hour and a half and walk at least 1 mile, including some steep hills. Programs take place rain or shine.
