THE FOLLOWING IS NOT A CHAMBER EVENT; PLEASE CONTACT THE EVENT ORGANIZER WITH ANY QUESTIONS. Clemmons is looking for groups of energetic people (homeowner associations, school organizations, scout groups, a group of friends, etc.) that are interested in working together to clean up creeks/streams in their neighborhoods over the weekend of Saturday, March 21 and Sunday March 22. You choose the date and time that works best for your group!  Don’t live near a creek or stream but still want to help? Clemmons will assign you a road to clean up. Individuals and groups can request an area or be assigned a location. Vests, gloves and trash bags will be provided.  

All over Clemmons, areas can be chosen by volunteers, or we can assign if you do not have an area in mind!

THE FOLLOWING IS NOT A CHAMBER EVENT; PLEASE CONTACT THE EVENT ORGANIZER WITH ANY QUESTIONS. Residents can dispose of expired, unwanted, or unused prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications – no questions asked – during the Spring Medicine Drop at Clemmons Fire Station 14 with the help from the Clemmons Fire Department, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, and Inmar Intelligence. Please remain in your vehicle. This will be a drive-thru service. This is for households ONLY. PLEASE REMAIN IN YOUR VEHICLE - THIS WILL BE A DRIVE-THRU SERVICE.   Operation Medicine Drop campaigns remind our citizens of the medications in their cabinets and provides them a safe and secure way to properly dispose of unwanted, and unused medications. Never flush medications down the toilet or drain as wastewater treatment systems are not capable of removing medications from the waterways. Studies have found that medicines flushed down the drain can contaminate downstream lakes and streams, which can harm fish and other aquatic wildlife, and end up in our drinking water supply. In addition to the environmental impacts, prescription drugs in home cabinets are a significant cause of accidental poisoning. These drugs are also highly susceptible to misuse and abuse. According to a study by Safe Kids Worldwide, medications are the leading cause of child poisoning, with more than 67,000 children going to an emergency room for medicine poisoning each year. Medications should always be out of reach of children and disposed of in a safe way when no longer needed.
