Cumberland County Schools (CCS) invites families, staff and community members to attend one of the upcoming Community Input Meetings as part of the districtâs School Consolidation and Redistricting Study. The sessions will be facilitated by MGT of America Consulting, the external firm leading the study. Two community meetings are scheduled for the following dates and locations: Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, at 6 p.m. â Jack Britt High School Auditorium (7403 Rockfish Road, Fayetteville, NC 28306) Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, at 6 p.m. â Pine Forest High School Auditorium (525 Andrews Road, Fayetteville, NC 28311) Each meeting will include a presentation of data and findings, followed by opportunities for community input to identify priorities and inform recommendations. No decisions have been made at this time. The district is seeking input from internal and external stakeholders before recommendations are presented to the Cumberland County Board of Education later this year. Over the past year, CCS and MGT have analyzed detailed data on school building conditions, capacity and utilization to guide long-term facility planning. This effort builds on the Master Facilities Assessment, which identified more than $800 million in needed repairs and upgrades across CCS schools. With school facilities that span multiple generations of construction, the district remains committed to providing safe, modern learning environments for all students. Community input is an important part of the districtâs facility planning process. The district welcomes input as it works to develop a thoughtful, sustainable plan that addresses aging buildings and supports student success for years to come.

Provides required technology courses in computer hardware, computer software, networking, computer operating systems, and Web design with digital video/audio. Emphasizes skill-based, application-oriented learning methodology. Promotes a balance between academic knowledge and workforce application. Promotes the development of skills to deal with the interdisciplinary demands of employers. Offers college-level courses through Fayetteville Technical Community College. About Us The Academy of Information Technology at Pine Forest High School is a school of choice and is open to students across Cumberland County. Students not living in the Pine Forest District are responsible for their own transportation to and from school. AOIT is a small learning community within our school that introduces students to the broad career opportunities in todayâs digital workforce and equips them with the personal, analytical, technical, and communication skills needed for careers in information technology. The Information Technology Pathway includes a variety of courses open to everyone at Pine Forest as well as courses specific to Academy students. The Academy of Information Technology is affiliated with NAF, an organization that helps students be future ready by bringing education, business, and community leaders together to transform the high school experience. AOIT is designed as a four-year program. However, we work with students who begin in their sophomore year to ensure that they get the coursework they need to complete the requirements of the pathway. Our program educates and trains students to become certified in several areas of information technology. Certification Exams available to AOIT students: Comp TIA A+ Computer Technician Comp TIA IT Fundamentals Comp TIA Network+ Comp TIA Security+ Adobe Creative Cloud Adobe Premier Pro Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Specified criteria must be met to qualify to sit for certification exams.
