You're invited to celebrate with us as we honor leaders in our community who are investing their time, talent, and resources to make Triangle East the wonderful place we get to call home! 2025 Legacy Award Nominees Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient: Rebecca Flowers   Presented to a citizen or citizens who, over their lifetime, have consistently served the Triangle East region with outstanding ability and dedication by voluntarily giving of their time, talent and energies without remuneration.    Citizen of the Year Award Recipient: Jeffery Hamilton  Presented to a citizen or citizens who, over the last year, have consistently served the Triangle East region with outstanding ability and dedication by voluntarily giving of their time, talent and energies without remuneration.  Jimmy Creech Small Businessperson of the Year Award Nominees: Terry Arthur, Pine Level Hardware & Furniture Donna Fitzgerald & Hayley Hodge, The Grocery Bag Tim Sessoms, Comfort Shield Warren Stancil, Interstate Outdoor, Inc. This award is given in memory of 1976 Board Chair Jimmy Creech who operated Creech's Pharmacy in downtown Smithfield for over 50 years. It is presented to the outstanding small business owner in the community based on success, longevity and commitment to the community.  Emerging Leader Award Nominees: Carter Jones Joelina Landa Jonathan McHatton Shatisha Mclaurin Kyle Mobley Hannah Stecher Dr. LaShawndra White  Leaders under age 40 recognized for their contributions to the betterment of our community and impact on their business/organization.  In addition to the awards program, the evening will feature a silent auction benefiting the Triangle East Economic Development Foundation. The Foundation supports the work of the Triangle East Chamber of Commerce in its mission to promote the economic well-being of the region through workforce development, business growth, and regional collaboration. The "Tim Elliott band" is a country music act led by singer-songwriter Tim Elliott, known for high-energy, crowd-pleasing shows influenced by classic country and bluegrass. Based in the Carolinas, the band performs over 100 shows a year and has released nationally charted singles.   The Rockin' On Raiford Concert Series is made possible by a grant from the Johnston County Visitors Bureau. Concerts will take place on Raiford Street in Downtown Selma. Bring your own chair. Coolers prohibited. Downtown Selma is a social district - get your cup from The Alley or Quantum Toad fill it up with your favorite adult beverage and enjoy the concert.
