The UNCW CIE is excited to launch the Wilmington Innovation Forum: a monthly, one-hour program spotlighting the ideas, expertise, and research shaping our region’s future. Wilmington Innovation Forum will take place on the first Thursday of every month.  Each session features a UNCW faculty member or community expert sharing a 35–40-minute talk on their area of expertise, whether in technology, science, business, or other fields, followed by a 20-minute interactive Q&A. At its core, the forum is about knowledge sharing and collaborative learning. It’s an opportunity to explore new ideas, gain fresh insights, and connect university and community partners in meaningful conversations that drive innovation and growth.

On February 10, the Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Cape Fear REALTORS®, the Wilmington–Cape Fear Home Builders Association (WCFHBA), and BASE, invites members of all four host organizations to attend a Candidate Forum featuring local candidates running in the 2026 New Hanover County Board of Commissioners and Board of Education contested primaries. This forum offers members the opportunity to hear directly from candidates ahead of the Primary Election on March 3, 2026. Wilmington Chamber of Commerce 159th Annual Meeting Join us for one of Wilmington’s most anticipated business events of the year. The Chamber’s 159th Annual Meeting brings together more than 500 of our region’s most influential business and community leaders for an evening designed to spark ideas, strengthen relationships, and set the tone for a successful year ahead. This year’s program will recognize the leadership of 2025 Board Chair Jim Hundley Jr. of Thomas Construction Group and officially welcome 2026 Board Chair Nicolas Montoya of Trailborn Surf & Sound and Montoya Business Group.   We will also celebrate the Duke Energy Lifetime Achievement in Business honoree, Chip Mahan of Live Oak Bank and welcome keynote speaker Dee Ann Turner. A 33-year veteran of Chick-fil-A, Dee Ann was the company’s first female officer and served as Vice President of Talent and Vice President of Sustainability. The Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce invites members in good standing to attend our upcoming Public Policy Committee meeting on Tuesday, February 24, from 8:30 to 9:45 am.   This meeting will feature an update from New Hanover County Planning Director Rebekah Roth, who will provide an overview of the County’s Comprehensive Plan and key considerations moving forward.   The meeting will be offered both in person and virtually for your convenience.
