Do you want to explore what the horror genre has to offer? Boos and Brews is for you!  Join us at the Bellbrook Brewing Company!  for Adults 18+. -- This month we are reading Horror Movie, the newest book from horror maestro Paul Tremblay! In June 1993, a group of young guerilla filmmakers spent four weeks making Horror Movie, a notorious, disturbing, art-house horror flick. The weird part? Only three of the film's scenes were ever released to the public, but Horror Movie has nevertheless grown a rabid fanbase.  Three decades later, Hollywood is pushing for a big budget reboot. The man who played "The Thin Kid" is the only surviving cast member. He remembers all too well the secrets buried within the original screenplay, the bizarre events of the filming, and the dangerous crossed lines on set that resulted in tragedy. Celebrate 20 years of Revenge of the Sith at this interactive showing, complete with snacks. Ages 12+; reg. required. --- Episode III of Star Wars was released 20 years ago on May 19th, and we're hosting an interactive movie watch party to commemorate the occasion! We'll have pizza and other Star Wars treats. Parents/guardians must be at drop-off to sign a PG-13 movie permission slip. Drop off will begin at 5:45; this is when teens can settle in and get their snacks. Due to the long run time, we will be hitting play right at 6pm, so please plan to be on time!

Come listen to Brandon Weis talk about his exciting year-long Triple Crown hiking adventure. -- Have you ever thought about hiking across the country? What about doing it 3 times in one year? Maybe not. But if that sounds interesting to you, come listen to Brandon Weis speak at the Winters-Bellbrook Community Library about his Calendar Year Triple Crown hike in 2021 on the Appalachian Trail Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, Continental Divide Trail, and Arizona Trail. From Georgia to Maine, from Mexico to Canada, from Canada to Mexico, and from Utah to Mexico, his year of hiking entailed carrying a backpack of 20-30 pounds for over 8,000 miles in the dead of winter at -20 degrees through the scorching summer of 111. Through frostbite, injury, sheer exhaustion, and more — he endured. When he set out on his journey to hike the Triple Crown in a year, only 10 people had ever done it, but that didn’t deter him. Come and hear his story of determination, grit, and perseverance through America’s most beautiful and rugged landscapes!

Read this month’s book and join us at Sweet Arrow Reserve to chat, walk, and snack! For grades 6-8. --- Each month, one of your youth services librarians will be joined by Ms. Heather from the Bellbrook Sugarcreek Park District while we hike the trail at Sweet Arrow Reserve. In the case of bad weather, we will meet at the Bellbrook library. Our theme for May is fantasy; we'll be reading The Marvellers. Pick up a copy from the youth services desk after registration! Eleven-year-old Ella Durand is the first Conjuror to attend the Arcanum Training Institute, a magic school in the clouds where Marvellers from around the world practice their cultural arts. Despite her excitement, Ella discovers that being the first isn't easy--some Marvellers mistrust her magic. Eventually, she finds friends in elixirs teacher, Masterji Thakur, and fellow misfits Brigit and Jason. When a dangerous criminal escapes prison, supposedly with a Conjuror's aid, Ella becomes the target of suspicion. Worse, Masterji Thakur mysteriously disappears while away on a research trip. With the help of her friends and her own growing powers, Ella must find a way to clear her family's name and track down her mentor before it's too late
