Are you looking for a way to get involved at Cuyahoga Valley National Park? Join us for our Invasive Plant Removal Drop-in to improve habitat for native plants and wildlife. Invasive species overcrowd native species, making it difficult for them to thrive. Your efforts will help improve soil quality, restore native plants, and create better habitat for native wildlife. Drop-ins are a great opportunity for both first-time and veteran volunteers to get involved in their national park. You will use hand tools such as loppers and saws to remove invasive plants. Suitable for ages 10 and up. Volunteers who are 10-15 years of age must have parent or guardian supervision at the project site. Volunteers who are 16-17 years of age are only required to have a parent or guardian sign their Volunteer Agreement form. Outdoor work gloves and eye protection will be provided, but volunteers are permitted to bring personal equipment. We will have a water cooler. Please bring a refillable water bottle.

The Cuyahoga Valley Photographic Society invites all members to attend our very popular series of Photo Walks!The Photo Walk is a field session that provides an opportunity to explore a location, compare your photographic work with others who are working in the same spot, and participate in a photo critique. Photo Walks are a great way to hone your photographic skills.The Photo Walks for 2026 will be planned by CVPS member Jerry Jelinek. We are returning to a one-day format for the walk, followed by breakfast for those interested. The location of the walk will be announced, and the critique will be held the following week. Photographers are encouraged to submit their three favorite images for a critique by Jerry.Critique sessions are held on the Wednesday evening following the close of the photo walk at 7:00 p.m. The critiques will be in person at Hines Hill. Please email your photos to Jerry at [email protected] by the Monday before the critique so he can prepare. Through a series of thoughtfully guided experiences, you’ll explore your caregiving story (past, present, and future) while gently reconnecting with your own needs, energy, and direction. Participants will be guided in creating a personal Caregiver Manifesto—a clear, compassionate statement of how you want to show up in your caregiving and your life. This is not about doing more. Take in the beauty and wonders of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park while meandering through miles of nature and cityscapes in a vintage rail car. Discover local history while making lasting memories with family and friends on this iconic excursion.Guests may choose from two ride options to best fit their schedule and interests. The Classic 24-mile, round-trip ride departs from either the Rockside Depot or the Akron Northside Depot and lasts approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes. For guests seeking a shorter adventure, our Express rides depart from the Peninsula Depot and travel round trip either north to Rockside Depot and back or south to Akron Northside Depot and back. The Boston Gallery is a flagship initiative of the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Arts in the Park program, enriching visitor experiences and strengthening community connections through visual, cultural, and performing arts programming in partnership with artists across Northeast Ohio. Curated in partnership with the Museum of Creative Human Art (MoCHA), the Boston Gallery features rotating exhibitions of nature‑centric artwork, refreshed several times each year.On Exhibit: Spirit Wings: Tales Told in ColorSpirit Wings: Tales Told in Color presents a visual dialogue between artists Sylvia Munodawafa and Dinara Mirtalipova, whose works explore nature through folklore, symbolism, and cultural storytelling.Munodawafa’s sculptural masks and abstract paintings draw from African spiritual traditions, while Mirtalipova’s vibrant illustrations bring mythic narratives and folk imagery to life. Together, their work celebrates the enduring power of art to connect heritage, imagination, and the natural world.
