Learn the basic steps to use the embroidery machine so that you can come to the Bainbridge branch and create your own one-of-a-kind items.All ages welcome to attend the training session. Children under 12 need a guardian with them to use the embroidery machine. The guardian must also attend this training before helping a minor with the machine. NOTE: This training takes place at the Chardon Creativity Center makerspace located at Chardon High School (151 Chardon Ave. Chardon, OH 44024) not the Chardon Branch.Come watch the large format printer as it prints an example! See the process and ask any questions about using the large format printer for your own projects. Drop in any time during the program. The demonstration will happen every 15 minutes, so watch the stickers printing over and over to feel more comfortable with the process.This is not the mandatory training to use the large format printer, but may help as an accompaniment to the training. No experience necessary. The stickers are designed in advance and will be for demonstration purposes only.This event is held in the Inspiration Station: Geauga County Public Library's Maker Space at the Bainbridge Branch.

The Digital Legacy Lab is a free do-it-yourself space to convert your physical materials to digital files, preserving your important documents and memories for the future. Each DLL is comprised of equipment and software for digitization projects, including 8mm and super8 film scanners, photo and document scanners, vinyl record and cassette recorders, microphones, and VHS tapes. Digital Legacy Lab Orientations are available at least once a month to provide an introduction to the Digital Legacy Lab’s equipment and the process of digitization. The orientation is lecture-based and does not include hands-on training with any equipment. Additional individual support is available during consultation hours with the Digitization Specialist.Registration is required.

Want some support with your first visits using the equipment in the Bainbridge Branch's Maker Space? Schedule your session during these hours so staff can offer extra help! No registration required.The staff member will be available to answer your questions.You must take the mandatory training and sign the user agreement before scheduling a session in the Inspiration Station. Machines include: 3D scanner, Cricut Maker, direct-to-garment printer, embroidery machine, heat press, large format printer, laser engraver, and vinyl cutter.Although no training is necessary to use the sewing machines, staff can help with the sewing machines as well.Staff are happy to answer questions, offer suggestions for projects, and find resources for you during this time. Staff will not help with design or do any project for you.
