Ghost Hunts are Back! Also, Private Tours available – send email to spooky@DelawareOhio History.org for more information. Built in 1878, the Historic Jail and Sheriff's Residence, located at 20 West Central Ave in Delaware, OH, is home to several spirits. These Paranormal Tours are the perfect opportunity to find them or even discover new ones. Interested in learning more about this historic building? Come dive into a tour that covers both the history and haunts of the Historic Jail and Sheriff's Residence to learn more about what goes on after dark! Working with Tri-C Ghost Hunters, we will be holding Paranormal Tours from April through October! There are two tours per evening, and both will include a 2-hour paranormal tour of the building. Ticket price is $40. In order to provide the best ghost hunting experience for guests, the number of tickets available is very limited. Not all areas of the jail may be accessed. No one under 18 will be admitted, however 16- and 17-year-olds may be admitted with permission waivers signed by their parents or in attendance with a parent/guardian. No alcohol will be permitted. This is a lights-out investigation, and each participant should bring their own flashlight. Other investigation tools should be limited to small items such as pendulums, dowsing rods, and recording devices. Schedule for each evening: Group 1: Check in begins at 7:45 PM, intro at 8:00 PM, 2-hour investigation starts at 8:15 PM, debrief and departure by 10:15 PM. Group 2 check in begins at 11:15 PM, intro at 11:30 PM, 2-hour investigation begins at 11:45 PM, debrief and departure by 1:45 AM.

Ohio provided many soldiers/sailors to the Union cause and was a key transportation hub and manufacturer of weapons, supplies, and uniforms. Mike Wise, President of the Big Walnut Area Historical Society, will portray his second great-uncle, Captain George Wise, who served as an adjutant in the Union Army’s 43rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry under Sunbury’s hometown hero, Major General William S. Rosecrans. He will recount how Ohio’s contributions to the Union war effort to suppress the Southern rebellion were critical in achieving victory and restoring the Union.

The Barn at Stratford historically stabled draft horses. Join us to make articulated paper horse puppets and play a game of horseshoes. Did you know that the Barn at Stratford stabled many draft horses - Belgians, Percherons, and Clydesdales - throughout the 19th and 20th centuries? As we prepare for the annual Delaware Horse Parade and Brown Jug Horse Race at the Delaware County Fair, we’ll create our own articulated paper horse puppets, similar to popular 1800’s moving paper toys. Try your skill with a lawn game of horseshoes. Fun Fact: Horseshoe pitching was a favorite sport of both President Truman and George H. W. Bush. This is a free event, but donations are always appreciated as they help with our museum operating costs. If you sign up, but your plans change, please let us know at [email protected]. This will free up a space for another participant and allow the program presenters to prepare the proper amount of materials.

Each session will have an assignment to complete on the job during the month and then present back during the course. It would involve the concepts covered in the program and would be focused in at least one of the following areas: - Employee Engagement - Managing Performance Issues - Retaining Talent - Developing Employees Project participants will set a project goal and collaborate together to create activities, strategies, and initiatives to achieve their goal for their team in their respective organizations.
