THE DATE OF THIS DISCUSSION HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20, 2025!*** The Thrills and Chills Teen Book Club will feature a mixture of fictional graphic novels and young adult novels for ages 14 to 18 in the ninth through twelfth grades. This list of books was chosen by our young patrons who have regularly attended the Headlands’ Graphic Novel Book Club for the last two years!The graphic novel is an engaging genre which highlights not only the narrative but artistic expression as well. The YA novels may have spooky twists and turns as well as delve into the challenging lives of the teenage fictional characters.This group will meet on the second to the last Monday of the month at Headlands Branch from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.. Registration is required.This month’s novel is Their Vicious Games by Joelle Wellington.

The library meets the wilderness! Join us every month at a different Mentor park to forge a deeper connection with yourself and with the marvels of nature living in our own neighborhood. We'll explore different journaling techniques across a variety of mediums. No experience necessary - open to all ages and skill levels. Limited instruction will be given, as this is a way for each individual to find ways to create a habit of observing and connecting to nature. All supplies provided (but feel free to bring your own!). This month, we'll be meeting once again at Veterans Park (5730 Hopkins Rd). By registering, you agree to the following:I, the undersigned, agree on behalf of myself and my heirs/next of kin/representatives, that I am strictly a volunteer and not entitled to any compensation or other benefits. By participating in this program, I agree that I expressly assume any and all risks associated with this activity. I hereby release from liability and hold harmless the Mentor Public Library, the City of Mentor, and their boards, representatives, agents, and/or employees for any injury, illness, loss, damage, or other harm sustained by me during the performance of activities for this program. I agree that this waiver of liability shall also apply to my child/ward participating in this program and I hereby sign this waiver on behalf of my child/ward, if applicable.
