Avery Gardner, Luna Knight, Angela Justice, Harmony Ashcroft, Buddy Edmunds, Jane Doe, and Jamie Banks were murdered! Or were they? Their cold cases were never solved. Can you Come Crack a Cold Case? Join us July to December at the Headlands Branch as we look at each Unsolved Case File, examine the evidence, and identify the killer. Adult patrons can join us in person on the first Monday of every month (see two exceptions below), July to December, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. or feel free to stop by anytime that day and just pick up a copy of the case file to take home and solve on your own. We will offer tea or coffee and a donut while our "detectives" go through the clues to solve these fictional crimes. Registration is required for IN PERSON sleuthing.Dates for our investigations (***Please note exceptions below!)***:Monday, July 7, 2025Monday, August 4, 2025***Monday, September 8, 2025 (The first Monday of September is Labor Day. The library meets the wilderness! Join us every month at a different Mentor park to forge a deeper connection with yourself and with the marvels of nature living in our own neighborhood. We'll explore different journaling techniques across a variety of mediums. No experience necessary - open to all ages and skill levels. Limited instruction will be given, as this is a way for each individual to find ways to create a habit of observing and connecting to nature. All supplies provided (but feel free to bring your own!)Meetings from November through March will be in partnership with the Cleveland Museum of Natural History's Second Saturday Science program. We will meet at the corner of Woodridge and Forest Roads in Mentor Headlands (street parking is available) to then venture out into Mentor Marsh and see what we can see! By registering, you agree to the following:I, the undersigned, agree on behalf of myself and my heirs/next of kin/representatives, that I am strictly a volunteer and not entitled to any compensation or other benefits. By participating in this program, I agree that I expressly assume any and all risks associated with this activity.
