âInclusion Looks Good on Everyoneâ Wear mismatched clothes or crazy socks to show that our differences make us unique and special. Frontier is officially a Unified Champion School (UCS) through the Special Olympics of Oklahoma! Unified Champion Schools is an initiative that promotes social inclusion by bringing together students with and without intellectual disabilities through shared activities, leadership opportunities, and school-wide engagement. March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, a time dedicated to promoting understanding, acceptance, and inclusion for individuals with developmental disabilities. The UCS program focuses on three main components: ⢠Unified Sports â Students with and without disabilities train and compete together. ⢠Inclusive Youth Leadership â Students of all abilities collaborate to plan events, lead initiatives, and advocate for inclusion. ⢠Whole School Engagement â School-wide activities help promote kindness, understanding, and respect among all students. Programs like UCS help build stronger school communities by encouraging friendship, reducing stereotypes and bullying, and creating a more welcoming and respectful environment for everyone. To celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and help spread the message of inclusion, we will be hosting Spread the Word: Inclusion Spirit Week. We invite both staff and students to participate in promoting kindness and acceptance throughout our school.
