Quilters of all skill levels, from absolute beginners to experienced stitchers, are invited to join us on the first Saturday of each month to collaboratively create a community art quilt to display at the library! Get ready to unleash your inner artist and create a colorful, one-of-a-kind masterpiece in a supportive, relaxing environment. Each month we will unveil a new challenge and provide the tools and supplies for each participant to create two quilt blocks: one for the library, and one to keep. The first meeting will be on Saturday 2/1 from 11am-12pm. Let’s thread those needles and get to creating!

Learn about traditional Kalapuyan lifeways, culture, and ecological knowledge related to this region with educator Stephanie Craig, one of the few basket weavers in the Grande Ronde tradition. She will share samples of foods, medicine, utilitarian plants, tools, and family belongings that have been passed down for generations. Stephanie Craig is the owner of Kalapuya Weaving and Consulting. She is a 7th generation traditional basket weaver, Traditional Ecological Knowledge and Lifeways practitioner, and culture keeper and bearer.

The vehicles themselves can—and perhaps should—be as whacky and tricked-out as possible. Make a banana-mobile! A cat-mobile! A pizza-mobile! Then test-race it down a custom SCRAP-made Rainbow Road!
