Free dress days are the last Thursday of each month for all students. Common-sense guidelines apply such as no torn-out jeans, no clothes with inappropriate graphic or logos, or anything that promotes violence, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, sex, racism or gang affiliation, no costume items, etc. Prohibited articles of clothing include but are not limited to: Pajamas and yoga pants (except on “Pajama Day”)Trench coats or capesTank tops and spaghetti or thin strap topsBare midriff, or see-through clothingForm-fitting pants cannot be worn alone and must follow uniform guidelines as described in section 1(b)(iii) of the uniform policy at all times.It is imperative that student attire does not contribute to a hostile or intimidating atmosphere for any student, and that dress code enforcement does not reinforce or increase marginalization or oppression of any group based on race, sex, gender, identity, religion, ethnicity, or cultural observance. Any such clothing items are not allowed, and students inappropriately dressed on free dress day will be asked to change. Parents will be contacted and asked to bring a change of clothes. If in doubt as to whether an item is appropriate, send back-up clothing in the event your child is asked to change. Younger students are also encouraged to bring a change of clothes in their backpacks in case of accidents.

Parents & Guardians of incoming SCS middle school students are invited to join a brief middle school tour led by Principal Raboli on May 28th. Following the tour, you will get to observe the House Sorting Ceremony where your student will be sorted into their Middle School House and participate in their first House Competition.* View the flyer here. *New Sherwood Charter School middle school students who have been accepted to the 2026-2027 school year are welcome to attend and participate in the tour, ceremony and house competition.

Elementary students will have a chance to participate in a school Field Day (student only) on June 1st! Fifth grade will assist Mr. Lamb in hosting the event for grades K-4th. Fifth grade will be rewarded for their hard work with a trip to Snyder Park concluding the event. All students will be given a popsicle (juice based, dye free) at the end of their Field Day session.* Please send students with a water bottle & dressed in athletic wear. Leggings must have shorts or skirts worn over them. *For students with special dietary requirements, please contact the office in advance for accommodations.

This will be a fantastic way of getting ready for the next year and help with any new classroom nerves!
