Specialty Tequila & Cocktails! The Whiskey Lab will be featuring past, present & future agave spirit-based cocktail favorites from their staff as well as some specialty tequilas. This month at CTV, we invite you to sink into the quiet, melancholic charm of Broken Flowers (2005), a wry and soulful road movie from one of independent cinema’s most enigmatic voices: Jim Jarmusch. Starring a perfectly understated Bill Murray, Broken Flowers follows Don Johnston, an aging bachelor who sets off on a reluctant cross-country journey to revisit a string of former lovers after receiving an anonymous letter claiming he has a 19-year-old son. What unfolds is not a quest for answers so much as a meditation on aging, regret, and the strange poetry of unresolved lives. Like many of Jarmusch’s films, Broken Flowers unfolds at its own rhythm—minimalist, dryly funny, and full of lingering silences that say more than any monologue could. It’s a film that trusts mood over momentum, character over clarity.
