Don’t miss Heart By Heart as they return to the Gesa Power House Theatre stage on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 7PM! This show is supported by Creative West and the National Endowment for the Arts. Steve Fossen and Michael Derosier, bassist and drummer for the band Heart during the 1970s and early 1980s, are now touring as Heart By Heart. “Our mission is to perform the classic Heart music as faithfully as we can,” Fossen says. The band features vocalist Somar Macek, guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist Lizzy Daymont, and guitarist Chad Quist. Heart By Heart presents a powerful, dynamic show that includes all the favorite Heart hits as well as deep album cuts that fans will love. Fossen and Derosier are the powerful driving engine behind Heart’s classic hits like “Barracuda”, “Straight On”, “Crazy On You”, “Magic Man”, “Even It Up”, “Dog & Butterfly”, “Heartless”, “Kick It Out”, and more. First formed by Steve Fossen in 1969, Heart went on to release six top-10 albums and landed 20 hit singles on the Billboard top 40 chart. In recognition of their contributions to these iconic recordings, and to Heart’s first seven years of national and international touring, Fossen and Derosier were inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the rest of the original Heart lineup in 2013. On Sunday, September 27 at 2 PM, Gesa Power House Theatre proudly presents the family-friendly show, Recess Monkey! Gesa Power House Theatre’s Little Watts Series is sponsored by Coldwell Banker Walla Walla and Underriner Honda of Walla Walla, and supported in part by Creative West and the National Endowment for the Arts. Drew, Jack, and Korum are three teachers who make kid’s music that grows out of their days in their classrooms. They continue to be praised across the country for singable, danceable songs that parents enjoy as much as their kids. Praised by People, Time, USA Today, The New York Times, and NPR for their pitch-perfect understanding of what gets kids excited, Recess Monkey is known for prolific album output, high-energy shows, and laugh-out-loud funny lyrics that capture the essence of being young. They drink a lot of coffee. Mindy Thomas from SiriusXM’s Kids Place Live says, “These guys are able to tap into elementary school so well that it’s like they never left. In this never-ending nationwide talent show of kid and family music, they are most definitely at the top.” Says Stefan Shepherd of Zooglobble.com, “Recess Monkey just keeps turning out album after album with pop nuggets, as if we’d just discovered that the Beatles had recorded a ton of kids music 40+ years ago.” Recess Monkey has earned dozens of awards over its twelve year history. Time Out New York recently named them the #3 Kindie band in America behind the iconic They Might Be Giants and gifted Chicago kid-tunester Justin Roberts. Known for prolific, eclectic musical output and their contagiously exciting live shows, Recess Monkey strives to strike a balance between kid-centric ideas and musical authenticity. Lyrically, they weave jokes and puns together with universal childhood themes, speaking to both kids and their parents simultaneously with catchy, melodic songs. Seamlessly meshing their indie-rock roots with their keen awareness of childhood themes, the band continues to make waves coast to coast. Travel 1920s Washington State along one of the first modern highways—the Yellowstone Trail—which ran from here to Massachusetts. Along the way, meet the people and places grappling with the dizzying changes this new innovation brought. From the young people who gained new freedoms—including the women who stunned Pullman by driving without a male escort—to the bootleggers, bachelors, and flappers who drove, walked, and hitchhiked the newfangled road, join educator Teresa Andre for a series of fascinating stories that lay at the dawn of our car-obsessed culture. Museum educator and speaker Teresa Andre is a longtime developer and presenter of history programs at venues as diverse as the Hanford B Reactor, New York State Museum, and Columbia River cruise ships. This is the latest in the Live Cinema Series, sponsored by Lisa Anderson and Stephanie Whitaker. The Fifth Step, by David Ireland and directed by Finn den Hertog, features Olivier Award-winner Jack Lowden (Slow Horses, Dunkirk) and Emmy and BAFTA-winner Martin Freeman (The Hobbit, The Responder) in this critically acclaimed and subversively funny new play. After years in the 12-step programme of Alcoholics Anonymous, James becomes a sponsor to newcomer Luka. The pair bond over black coffee, trade stories and build a fragile friendship out of their shared experiences. But as Luka approaches step five – the moment of confession – dangerous truths emerge, threatening the trust on which both of their recoveries depend.
