Peter Pan (Robin Williams) has grown up to be a cut-throat merger and acquisitions lawyer, and is married to Wendy’s (Dame Maggie Smith’s) granddaughter, Moira (Caroline Goodall). Captain James Hook (Dustin Hoffman) kidnaps his children, Jack (Charlie Korsmo) and Maggie (Amber Scott), and Peter returns to Neverland with Tinkerbell (Julia Roberts). With the help of her and the Lost Boys, he must remember how to be Peter Pan again in order to save his children by battling with Captain Hook once again. A troubled young boy named Jesse forms an unlikely bond with a captive orca named Willy at a marine park. Initially rebellious and disconnected, Jesse is assigned community service at the park, where he begins to connect with the intelligent whale. As their relationship deepens, Jesse learns that Willy has been separated from his family and is being exploited for profit by the park’s owners. When the owners decide Willy is no longer valuable and plan to dispose of him, Jesse and his friends race against time to set the whale free. In a climactic moment, Jesse helps Willy escape back into the ocean, symbolizing both the whale’s return to freedom and Jesse’s own emotional growth and sense of belonging. Gesa Power House Theatre is proud to announce the return of SHAKESPEARE UNDER THE STARS to Echolands Winery! This outdoor production invites you to experience Shakespeare as it was meant to be: alive, communal, and surrounded by the beauty of the natural world. Set against the stunning backdrop of Echolands Winery, evenings begin with live pre-show music and the chance to gather with friends over a glass of wine before the story begins. You will have eight opportunities to attend for 2026. The show will begin each evening August 20-23, and August 27-30 at 7:00PM.  This year we will enjoy Shakespeare’s classic comedy of mischief, music, and mistaken identity unfolds under the open skyfor a production of TWELFTH NIGHT. A shipwreck separates Viola from her twin brother, Sebastian, and leaves her stranded in an unfamiliar land. Determined to survive, she disguises herself as a young man and steps into a world already brimming with longing, desire, and barely contained emotion.In the neighboring households of Olivia and Orsino, love runs wild and rarely in the right direction. Disney’s classic, Aladdin, tells the story of a kind-hearted street thief named Aladdin who struggles to survive in the city of Agrabah. His life changes when he meets Princess Jasmine, who longs to escape the constraints of royal life. After being tricked by the power-hungry sorcerer Jafar into retrieving a magical lamp from the Cave of Wonders, Aladdin discovers a Genie who can grant him three wishes. Hoping to win Jasmine’s heart, he uses his wishes to disguise himself as a wealthy prince. As Aladdin navigates his new identity, he must also outwit Jafar, who seeks the lamp’s power for himself. Ultimately, Aladdin learns the importance of honesty and staying true to who he is, using his final wish to free the Genie rather than for personal gain. The story celebrates love, friendship, and the courage to be yourself. On Wednesday, September 16, at 7 PM, Gesa Power House Theatre proudly features Art, Creativity & Immigrant Youth, presented by speaker Lakeya Afolalu. This event is sponsored by Walla Walla and Humanities Washington. Young people across the U.S.—and especially in Washington—are growing up between languages, countries, and cultures. In this talk, explore how immigrant and transnational youth, particularly girls of color, use the arts to express their identities while navigating transnational lives and multilingualism. Drawing from personal experience, community-based work in South Seattle, and youth stories, Afolalu highlights how creative expression becomes a vital space for self-expression, community, and voice. Lakeya Afolalu lives in Seattle, and is an assistant professor of language, literacy, and culture at the University of Washington. A Nigerian and African American scholar and leader, her work explores immigrant and transnational youth identities through literacy, language, and the arts. She has a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin. Gesa Power House Theatre is committed to ensuring that the arts are for everyone. “Her voice stops you in your tracks.” — NPR Gesa Power House Theatre is thrilled to welcome back to the stage Latin Grammy-nominated artist Gina Chavez on Friday, September 18 at 7 p.m. This event is sponsored by SKIE Architecture Studio, with support from ArtsWA, Creative West, and the National Endowment for the arts. Gina Chavez is a wife, philanthropist and an award-winning independent musician. She is a 2020 Latin Grammy nominee for Best Pop/Rock Album, 12-time Austin Music Award winner, including 2019 Best Female Vocals and 2015 Austin Musician of the Year. Her NPR Tiny Desk concert has more than 1.3 million views and her hour-long PBS special is available nationwide. Gina’s music is deeply personal. Her passionate collection of bilingual songs takes audiences on a journey to discover her Latin roots through music as she shares her story of life in Texas as a married, queer Catholic.  Gina tours internationally as a cultural ambassador with the U.S. State Department and runs Niñas Arriba, a college fund she co-founded with her wife for young women in gang-dominated El Salvador.
