The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) Production Arts Department invites you to experience its Haunted House event on Saturday, November 1st from 6-8 PM.Designed and constructed by Production Arts majors, this haunted walk through is sure to send a chill down your spine. In this yearâs concept, âEclipsedâ, a local forest has garnered attention after some mysterious incidents have begun to occur. Hikers and travelers whoâve entered have reported hearing whispers in their ears for days after exiting the woods. Those whoâve ventured deep into the forest have not returned. Rumors about what or who is living in the forest have attracted curious explorers seeking something supernatural. Are you curious and brave enough to join them? Tickets are $8 General Admission and can be purchased online at CharterArts.org or at the door. Rated PG-13 for violent themes. Warning of flashing lights. Please arrive at our 3rd Street entrance. Last group accepted at 7:45 PM. ABOUT THE CHARTER ARTS PRODUCTION ARTS DEPARTMENT: Students in this department explore the making of both live and recorded entertainment productions through producing, event management, design, technology and construction. Students graduate with skills in set design and construction, costume design and construction, audio and video production, lighting design, stage management, prop fabrication, special effects makeup application, projection design and animation, and more. Production Arts students collaborate as a design team to produce original works including but not limited to: design-centric performance, multi-medium collages, and immersive installations. The Production Arts Department offers students the opportunity to work with directors, choreographers and peers on conceptualizing, designing, and creating for school-wide events and performances. Inspired by Agatha Christie, this play takes a comic and contemporary spin on the classic whodunit. With a playwright leading the audience through his process, characters who break the fourth wall and audience participation to help solve the case, âThe Plot, Like Gravy, Thickensâ, will keep the audience on the edge of its seat in more ways than one. This production is directed by Anelise Rodriguez and features a talented cast of young actors. This comedic murder mystery promises a delightful evening of suspense and surprises! Rodriguez shares: âThe audience can expect the same excitement and intrigue from a classic murder mystery but with a lot more humor. Thatâs what appealed to me most about this play â St. Johnâs ability to take something familiar, maybe a bit predictable, and make it feel new.â Show times include: Evening Performances on October 24 & 25 at 7 PM and a Matinee Performance on October 26 at 2 PM. With a playwright leading the audience through his process, characters who break the fourth wall and audience participation to help solve the case, âThe Plot, Like Gravy, Thickensâ, will keep the audience on the edge of its seat in more ways than one. This production is directed by Anelise Rodriguez and features a talented cast of young actors. This comedic murder mystery promises a delightful evening of suspense and surprises! Rodriguez shares: âThe audience can expect the same excitement and intrigue from a classic murder mystery but with a lot more humor. Join us during First Fridays for Bethlehem Steel Flashlight Tours!Many places in the massive Bethlehem Steel plant were 24/7 operations.  Although some areas glowed with molten metal after sunset, other locations were dark, illuminated only when workers with company issued flashlights navigated the maze-like facilities.  Now guests can participate in a guided tour of the plant after dark, utilizing flashlights to experience the former steel mill by spotlighting specific features and peering into areas otherwise in the shadows during the day.  The tours will leave from the Museum, walk the Hoover-Mason trestle, look at the east side of the blast furnace complex from the ground, and return to the Museum at street level, all while using flashlights to focus on details and stories from âThe Steel.â Please bring your own flashlight and wear comfortable walking shoes. Participants will be required to sign a waiver at check in.  This tour happens entirely in public spaces, but in the dark, with uneven surfaces and limited visibility.  It is not a haunted/ghost tour, but some visitors may be uncomfortable with the lack of light, strange noises, and heights (46 feet). In the case of inclement weather (including rain, snow/ice, heavy winds, lightning), please check the museum website and WFMZ storm center for cancellations. An expansive, personalized history of The High Iron Company, leader of more than 80 steam locomotive excursions in the Northeast, including the Golden Spike Centennial Limited round trip from New York City to Utah in 1969.
