Discover the art of identifying flowering plants, their herbal benefits, and crafting your own skin salve from nature’s remedies.SUNDAY, JUNE 1 Floral First Aid 10:00 AM-12:00 PM Marissa Jacobs, Trained Forager, Certified Herbalist, and Founder of The Art of Ecology Join us for a guided walk to learn about flowering plant identification and the herbal benefits of plant life, especially those that will help us out in a pinch if we get hurt outdoors. After the walk, create your own skin salve utilizing nature’s floral bounty. Each participant will also get to take home a floral first aid field bookmark. All materials provided. Walk mindfully through the gardens, notice changes within the seasons, and connect with the natural world. Each class offers a framework based in mindfulness meditation to reduce stress and anxiety, increase focus and attention, and expand your practice. All levels welcome, no prior meditation experience needed. Classes will be held outdoors with indoor or covered options available for inclement weather. Using kid-friendly, handheld mini microscopes, we’ll get up-close with what’s living and growing in Jenkins’ gardens and appreciate the fascinating micro-world around us. Looking closer will help build focus, nurture curiosity, and boost observation skills. Discover something new each week! Suitable for ages 3 and up. Children must be walking (no strollers) and must be accompanied by an adult. Registration required for children only.
