This fall, the Mary S. Biesecker Public Library is excited to host a Fall History Speaker Series. Join us on the first Thursday of each month for a series of FREE lectures on local history and genealogy!  On November 6th, the Library welcomes Pittsburgh genealogist Kate Townsend for her presentation “Lessons Learned: A Cautionary Tale of Common Genealogical Mistakes.” In this lecture, Kate uses her own experiences to explore mistakes that people make in researching their family history, and easy ways to avoid finding incorrect or misleading information about your family tree.   All of these lectures are free and open to the public. For Children ages 5-10.  In the Children's library.  Children can complete a simple and fun craft to take home.  Self-paced - All materials will be provided.  Small children must be accompanied by an adult.

Writer's Group

If you are 18 or over and write fiction in your spare time, consider attending our writer's group. We  meet from 6:00-9:00 on the third Tuesday of each month at the library.
